Seed Saving Flowers Workshop - Saturday Sept 20th 2025
All things seed saving, a hands on workshop!

Time: 10am - 3pm
Location: Bell Meadow, Tullow, Co. Carlow.
Cost : Euro120 (Deposit is Euro20 and Euro100 due the week of the Workshop)
Seed saving is a passion of mine ever since I started growing vegetables years ago. And naturally as you start growing more and buying seeds, you wonder how to save your own seeds. This leads then to learning about F1 Hybrid seeds and open pollinated and heirloom seeds.
I will talk through the science of seed saving and how we can save our own covering a number of varieties. We will walk through outside looking at different seed saving and breeding projects going on about the place! If the weather permits we can harvest fresh seed outside.
After a light lunch we will then do a little practical seed harvesting from different flowers and go through any questions you might have. Its fascinating to discover how different plants produce seeds, and what steps you need to take to clean the seeds and store them safely.
You will leave with plenty of seeds from flowers and plants grown here.
