Icelandic Poppy - Papaver nudicaule
Papaver nudicaule mixed - Icelandic poppy
2 yr old seeds
The most beautiful poppies and the ones with a good vase life unlike the other poppies.
Germination Instructions : Can be sown in Autumn and left to over winter in trays in a polytunnel. Most poppies are best sown directly where it is to flower as it does not like to be disturbed so it is one to experiment with. Prefers full sun and a well-drained soil. If overwintered then transplant in spring, or sow directly in spring for flowering the same summer.
Growing Instructions : It is said to be easy to grow. Will flower in the first year from seed. A perennial which can be treated as an annual, biennial. Currently I have some in a tray in the greenhouse so I can’t confirm yet if they are truly easy to grow!
Cultivation Instructions : Cut flowers regularly to encourage growth and to prolong flowering window. Deadhead if you do not want it to self-seed.
Seed Count: 1 gram (approx 6000 seeds)
