Foxglove Seeds

Digitalis purpurea

A mix of Foxglove seeds colours. Excelsior variety

Biennial Seeds

Non - pictorial packs for growers. Pack contains the seeds in an inner envelope.

Seed origin: Ireland , Seed Content : 100s seeds approx, seeds are very fine!

When to sow : Can be sown May/June/July direct in ground, sown late summer/autumn indoors and then again in early Spring.

Germination Instructions

If sowing indoors, surface sow onto a tray of moist well-drained seed compost. Very lightly press the seeds into the compost. The seed is tiny so take great care not to drop too much into one cell or one section (speaking from experience), some people use the wet toothpick method for sowing very fine seeds like these, or tapping very carefully from a folded sheet of paper.

Do not cover with soil as light is required for germination. Ideal temperature for germination is 15-20°C. Germination takes 14-21 days.

Prick out seedlings when well grown. Harden off and plant out after danger of frost has passed if planting in Spring or plant out in Sept if sown indoors in summer to allow them to get well established before frosts arrive or hold in a cold frame overwinter or in an unheated greenhouse if not large enough to plant outside before frosts.

Growing Instructions

They prefers partial sun but will grow in full sun. Avoid very wet or very dry situations. Apply compost in spring and mulch to keep weeds at bay.
