Organic Borage - Borago officanlis Blue

Annual, Edible Flower

Last years seeds so on sale

Organic Borage seeds, worth growing for the bees alone! The young tender leaves are used in salads and iced drinks and the flowers are edible, we love to freeze them in the middle of ice-cubes. It can also be used in arrangements but I find it quite prickly/hairy to touch! It has a habit of self-seeding everywhere! It can get quite bushy as a plant.

Germination Instructions : Can be sown indoors from March into trays, cover with soil. The seeds are a good size to handle so one seed per cell. Pot on when big enough and harden off before planting out once danger of frost has passed. Can also be sown direct into the garden.

It is not fussy in the garden, I’ve had it self seed and grow up out of gravel so it should work in most soils. Harvest flowers for immediate use in salads or drinks.

Seed Count: approx 70 seeds
