Flower and Garden Podcasts - Europe
When I first began growing flowers, I discovered flower podcasts by chance. The first few I listened to were from the USA, Slow Flowers being the first one, and I was so excited to hear about flower growing and floristry and from other people who loved flowers! From florists to flower farmers, to authors, from people who have been growing for decades, to people who have recently changed career paths, there is a conversation for everyone. Podcasts will literally keep you company while you are sowing in the garden or pulling up weeds in the polytunnel. They’ll fill you with inspiration and joy as well as giving you tips and probably make you buy more seeds than you ever intended!
This post will list some European flower farmer and garden posts, most are from the UK and I’m listing in alphabetical order as I couldn’t possibly pick a favourite! I am so grateful for all the hosts and the work they put into creating these podcasts, interviewing guests, sharing stories, making us laugh, inspiring us and sharing the joy of growing and designing with flowers. You keep us company and make us feel part of a much larger community. You can click on any image or find a link below each podcast to their websites so you can follow them and find out more!
Girl Flower Podcast
Let’s Grow Girls Podcast
Hosts and flower friends Sarah and Nicole keep gardeners across the world company as they tend to their cut flower patches and interviewing industry experts. I came across Nicole on instagram due to a mutual love of dahlias and was excited to listen to the podcast.
Both Sarah and Nicole are very down to earth and share a passion and joy for growing and for learning more about everything flower related! They do many podcasts where they talk to flower farmers who have expertise or are known for a certain bloom as well as growing a wide range of blooms. There’s also a real element of fun in the conversations.
Some of my favourite episodes include “Sweet Peas, Spring Bulbs and Flower Muscles” with Marryn from the Farmhouse Flower Farm, “Making the most of your cut flower patch” with Georgie Newbury and “Soil Blocking and Cool Flowers” with Lisa Mason Zieglar.

My small business and Me Podcast
Rona Wheeldon is the name behind “My small business and Me” Podcast.
According to Rona “, Having moved from a career in the corporate world and becoming a small business owner, I appreciate the many challenges you too may face”. I love listening to this podcast because it specifically speaks to the fact that floristry and flower farming is a business, and its easy to forget this as we get carried away in the growing and creating processes! Rona discusses many elements of small businesses with experts in different areas, from photography, to self confidence, to creativity and much more. I think it’s so important to look at your small business from these points of views as well as growing or designing with flowers, and this podcast is unique in it’s focus and sharing of business knowledge. My favourite episodes include Fiona from the Brand Stylist, Shane Connolly discussing Constance Spry, and Claire Bowen author of “The Healing Power of Flowers”.

Grow, Cook, Eat, arrange by Sarah Raven with Arthur Parkinson
Grow, cook, eat and arrange is a podcast by Sarah Raven and Arthur Parkinson. It is a seasonal podcast so every week it is relevant to what is growing in your garden for both flowers and vegetables.
The lovely relationship between Sarah and Arthur, as well as their growing expertise, makes the conversations lovely to listen to as well as being inspiring. I learn a tip or two at least from every single episode. The seasonality of it makes it all the more enjoyable as we are all harvesting the same things nearly at the same time. My favourite episodes include a compost discussion with the Land Gardeners, “Narcissus and Purple Broccoli” and “Bold and Beautiful Colour”.
